This is not a scientific survey: the species I select to photograph are, by and large, the more colourful or interesting ones. Equally importantly, they have to be willing to sit still long enough for me to compose a picture or two. Most moths are camouflaged when resting in their natural surroundings: this is how they avoid being eaten by birds and other predators. I have tried to choose appropriate substrates on which to photograph them.
